About Us

VetShare understands that in the local veterinary wholesale market there is a significant presence of foreign-owned companies which has resulted in reduced local ownership and control.

VetShare is principally owned by Australian veterinarians and is a wholesaler that purchases veterinary drugs and other supplies from manufacturers and sells them on to veterinary practices throughout New South Wales, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.

VetShare believes in customer service excellence and a heavily competitive pricing structure and it is working closely with a significant share of the market to maintain its focus on these two core deliverables.

VetShare Directors:

Dr Mark Ethell
BVSc MVetClinStud MACVSc FACBS Diplomate ACVS
Chairman of the Board

Mark Ethell co-founded VetShare with Paul Rennie in 2012 when they saw the opportunity for a wholesale supply company that was 'owned by vets for vets'. This was particularly timely given the growing trend of multinational buy-outs of existing players.

Mark is the owner of The Canberra Veterinary Group comprising small animal and equine practices in the Australian Capital Territory. He was the inaugural President of the Australian Veterinary Business Association and still serves on the Board. Mark has also served as President of the AVA (ACT Div), AVA Policy Councillor, and on the Committee of the Australian Veterinary Practice Management Association for several years. He also sits as the only external member of the University of Sydney Steering Committee for their Veterinary Teaching Hospitals.

Mark is a graduate of the University of Sydney with Bachelor and Masters degree and is a specialist in equine surgery following training at the University of Florida. He has also worked as a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at Massey University in New Zealand. Apart from referral surgery consultancy, Mark is passionate about the leadership of veterinary businesses.
